Coming from a smaller town i cant imagine what it would be to live somewhere like this. Where as far as you look in every direction there is just a solid mass of people and their homes. No matter what time of night it is there would be someone coming or going, cars driving past your front door or noises of some sort. The roads run through the city connecting people to one another. From rich neighborhoods to poorer people all live in the same city. A marvelous city with the things you want right on your doorstep.

A city never sleeps. Always changing. Always growing.

Being used in new and different ways by different people everyday. The avid gardener who has to satisfy themselves with a window box, the free-runner who sees everyday objects as a climbing frame, the commuter who sees nothing as they ride through the city everyday on their way to and from work.

Do people every truly know the people they share their space with ?

Productivity

This week i feel like I've achieved quite a lot. Ive had four shifts at work, four days at uni, created my HTM presentation and been to see the place said presentation is about (blog to follow), sat my bus. tech. test (results impending, presented my business technology presentation, practiced for my marketing multiple choice test AND read 150 pages of my marketing book in a two hour period.

Even managed to fit in a wee social excursion with Carolyn to eat cold mac and cheese.

Pretty good week all in all I think.

I want to roll in one of theses over the summer when its warm at night and the sky's all pretty and pale colored with a couple of clouds floating by.

Neglected again

Youd never guess Id gone back to uni this week. Blog has been severely neglected i know but id had loads of coursework but starting to feel like im getting on top of it so hopefully within the next few days bloggage will be better. Considering Ive been awake for 18 and a bit hours i hope youll forgive me for any spelling mistakes.

Soup!

Ok i think im rather addicted to making soup, theres just something so satisfying about it.

So today i made another batch of the spicy tomato and pepper soup even though i vowed i never would and also tried a new one - Boxing day soup.

The idea is that you can use all of your left over veg from christmas day. So basically this soup has onion, potato, celery, carrot and sprouts - lots and lots of sproats. It smells kinda jazzy but im told it tastes better than it smells.

Also went to Tesco and got sadly excited about how the stock cubes were on special offer - its a bad sign i tells ya

Busy busy busy

Ever wondered what an entire semester worth of business technology notes look like? Well this is it. I need to learn something more to fill the gap on the forth page, it frustrates me.

Coffee Cake

Am I just a gluten for punishment? After my interresting year in France last year I, for some unknown reason, am considering going back for another season over the Summer holidays but i really dont know if its worth it or not. Id probably have to give up my job over here and probably wouldnt make that much money but for some reason i really want to do it. Any thoughts let me know.

Spud Love

Contrary to popular belief this is not just a PO-TA-TO! You can do more than just boil 'em, mash 'em or stick 'em in a stew.

Homemade potato wedges are yummy. Just peel (optional) some baking potatos stick them in a tube with sunflower oil and chilli /paprika, stick the lid on and shake till its all orangy. Pop them on a tray in the over at 200 degrees C and cook until the look done turning them over. Its an idea to put extra oil on the tray otherwise the stick

Look at them all goldenish and yummy.

So go on and show the humble spud some love

Spicy Soup

So today in a vain attempt to avoid doing revision today i decided to make pepper and tomato soup. Apparently its rather spicy, just about killed my mum. Even if this turns out to be the best soup in the world im never making it again, dicing that about of food is not easy.

1 large onion, minced
2 cups finely chopped sweet red or yellow peppers
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbs olive oil
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1/8 tsp ground red pepper
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
4 cups lowfat chicken stock
2 cups diced tomatoes


In a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, saute the onions, peppers and garlic in the olive oil for about five minutes or until the onions are translucent and the peppers are softened. Stir in the chili powder, oregano and peppers. Saute for one minute.

Add the stock and tomatoes and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Working in batches, put the soup into a blender and blend on high speed until smooth. Repeat with remaining soup.
Bit gutted the camera doesnt really get the lovely shade of red this was.

We'll Ive just been told that apparently because the world has tilted in no longer an aries but instead im now a pisces. So instead of a ram im a fish. Instead of a masculin star sign im now feminine. Im now a water element rather than fire. The world has been turned upside down.




So may thought are now that I'm going to have a wee look at my horoscopes for a while and what ever one fits better will be the one i except as my star sign.

A good old spot of glasgow humour

Two Face

Was feeling kinda creative and struck upon the idea of doing a before and after for makeup. So with that i draw a line with eyeliner and applied makeup only on one side as a real time before and after. Don't know how clear the pictures are cause foundation and blusher were hard to get to show up. Had several attempts at getting a good couple of pictures that showed the difference between the two halves and in the later pictures i did take the line out but have a wee look for yourself and see the difference.

Never finish off a bag of pretzels the same way you finish off a bag of chips. Those aren't pretzel crumbs you're poring into your mouth, it's pure salt. #LFMF

Wee afternoon in the kitchen

Went to Tescos a couple of days ago and found all these tubes for £6. So deciding to put them to good use i made some soup today which is now sitting nice and comfortably in my freezer.


All the ingredients that went into my soup
1 Leek
2 Small Spuds
1/2 Cup of Lentils
2 Sticks of Celery
6 Carrots
2 Chicken Stock Cubes (2 Jugs worth)

The veg once it was all finely chopped, bit out of focus i know.Fry the veg in butter for 5 minutes then add a tablespoon of flour and stir for a minute. Then add the stock and lentils and simmer for as long as it takes for the veg to go al.l soft, the carrots the best bit to test


And you end up with soup.......
