Third Book Down

Three books into my 50 book challenge which isn't too shabby considering Ive got work and uni as well. So i thought today i might explain today why i love reading.

Reading is an escape - You can be having the worst day on the planet, feeling crappy as hell, pick up a book and within seconds you can be submerged in plot and forgetting what ever happened that made your day so bad in the first place.

Its like an old friend - Re reading books from the past is like reliving a memory. The book wont have changed, only you as a reader. There have been books that on the first reading i didnt really enjoy that much but on re-reading Ive fallen in love. They are there on shelves to dip into when ever you want to.

Its your own little world - Very few people will talk to you when your reading a book if you want to be left alone. I get sucked into the book and my screen saver face must say something along the lines of "interrupt me and die!"

They let you connect with people - In a day and age where the world is online people can connect in a way like never before. I can be reading a book and have a conversation with someone on the other side of the world about the book and they can recommend more.

They let you imagine - Nothing will ever look 100% the same in your minds eye as it looks in another persons. No matter how much detail the author goes into there will still be differences that make the book your own.

Plus there's the books themselves - If you can think of a better place on earth than a library i'd like to hear it.
